Moom palace grand section rooms9/16/2023 ![]() There were lots of little kids screaming and very loud crackling speakers blasting music all the time. A couple of the pools got 'closed for cleaning' while we were at them - gross. To boast about how many pools they have is a joke, as they are so small, we could never get a seat right in front, and they were stuffed with people, so we didn't feel much like going in. The fact that the hotel allows this to go on is disgraceful. We found it extremely hard to find a few seats together by the pool, because they were always 'reserved' with towels, for people who often never came around within the 3 -4 hours that we were there. Here they are extremely overcrowded, and tiny. The pools, though they say there are may, are extremely small - I mean, small! I am used to the large expansive beautiful pools you normally see in Mexico. Not sure what the trick was to get into that place, we never figured it out. They could care less how many times we called and asked, and kept asking, they did nothing to accommodate us. We never got a reservation at the steak house, we called about 6 times and they were always 'all booked'. It was usually overcooked, not seasoned or flavourful, and cold. The food was not very good both in flavour and preparation. When we finally got our table, we felt like we were in a sweat shop, the waiters were rushing around, looking exhausted, and sweaty. To get into the sit down restaurants, we had to wait a minimum of 45 - 50 minutes. We didn't have 1 memorable meal here, in fact. Aside from making 4/5 of us sick, the food is barely OK - it is what you would typically get in a 2 or 3* all inclusive, except we paid way more for this holiday than we have for any other Mexican vacation (we've had many, but the food at The Grand was the worst of all resorts we have stayed at.) Mostly, we noticed the food was cold, overcooked, not seasoned very well, empty or extremely picked over, and sometimes the dishes were odd and very unappetizing. Not once did the GM try to contact us to see what could be done. They just provide lip service but have no authority to do anything to help. The 'public relations' people are absolutely useless. The hotel did absolutely nothing to help us. We couldn't leave our room for 24 hrs, and for 3 - 4 days after that, were left still feeling very ill and uncomfortable. We were violently vomiting for 24 hrs, followed by 'the other' for several days and severe stomach pains. 4/5 of us got sick, we believe from a chocolate milkshake at the pool.
